About
The Story Behind The Glass
Trejayne is a glass blower based in Scotland, UK and over the past 4 years has taught herself the art of Flameworking – a modern approach to glass blowing that uses a torch rather than a traditional furnace.

Since 2021, she started documenting her learning journey via social media and has gained an audience of over 2 million.
By sharing her honest experiences online, including her trials as well as her triumphs, she hopes to inspire a young generation to take up the dying craft and bring glass blowing back to a modern audience.
Using ‘The Contemporary Lampworking’ books by Bandu, she created a Skill Tree – a project-based map for basic to intermediate glass blowing skill with planned rewards along the way. Over time, as she completed each project, her skills grew. Her videos showcase her whimsical pieces such as pens, flowers, crowns, and goblets often inspired by pop culture and tv shows.

The studio itself has had many iterations. Starting in a spare bedroom and progressing through various sheds! The first leap came from moving into The Mart in East Linton where she quickly outgrew the smallest container unit on the site and upgraded to one of the biggest.
As her passion for glassblowing evolved into a small family business the demand for her items grew and so did the her requirements for equipment. A successful Crowdfunding campaign lead to the purchase of a 12 foot kiln to keep up with production. The first time it went on the power went down on the whole site...
Now she is based in West Linton in an old village hall where the space is large enough to continue to grow into as she develops as an artist and a business owner. Her journey has been helped along by the generous donation of the late Master Glass Blower, Tom Young's hand tools.

She is also the creator of Glass Nail Rings, an innovative glass product that allows people to wear beautiful removable rings which mimic the look of false nails. So those who cannot have false nails done due to any aspect of their lifestyle can still enjoy luxurious nail decoration. In 2024, Trejayne featured her prototype Glass Nail Rings at Paris Fashion Week alongside Diane de Paris'
collection of sensational garments.
“I have never been able to get my nails done, as I have always worked with my hands and use dangerous equipment in my workshop. I have a wee a child and have a lot of practical hobbies such as rock climbing, running, and whittling so false nails just aren’t appropriate.”
Designed for real-life practicality, these Glass Nail Rings address the needs of women working in hands-on professions, such as healthcare, sports, and caring roles. They also offer solutions for parents, those with religious commitments, and anyone recovering from false nails, bringing comfort and style to diverse lifestyles.

In 2025 Trejayne was granted a scholarship to the Corning Museum of Glass in New York where she honed her skills to new heights. Upon return to the studio she launched into her most successful project to date, AI defying food sculptures.
The UK has seen a number of glass studios and education centres close in recent years with more under threat due in part to rising energy costs and lack of people taking up the craft.
Trejayne has hopes to grow the glass blowing industry again in the UK, passing down her knowledge of glass blowing and tool making on to the next generation of flame workers.
Recently Trejayne attended Scottish Parliament where she used her voice to create awareness of Heritage Crafts in Scotland in the hopes of reviving industries of makers. Notably the need for growth spaces for small businesses.
In 2026 Trejayne will visit Venice to learn from the Venetian glass blowers by invitation. A rare honour and one that will surely propel her on to even more fantastic creations.
