My Story

Hi, I’m Trejayne!

I started working with glass 5 years ago at the tradition steeped Bristol Blue Glass studio. I predominantly trained in lamp working (an open flame) and kiln crafting with a brief foray into furnace based ‘glass blowing’.

I focus mainly on glass jewellery inspired by popular culture references from film, anime and video games.

Setting up through the Pandemic has lead me to focus solely on e-commerce allowing me to reach an international audience, predominantly through TikTok.

The Studio

My fully self-funded glass studio has seen a several iterations. Starting in a spare bedroom (cue burns in the carpet), then a tiny shed in a fishing village (zero space or ventilation), upgraded to the outbuilding of a farmers cottage (a bit too much space and ventilation…) before making the move to two porta cabins on the same site.

After my crowdfunding success though Creative Scotland’s matchfuning on crowdfunder I was able to upgrade my equipment but suddenly outgrew my space. So the studio moved once again to the Scottish Borders and a historic hall nestled into the foothills of the Pentlands near West Linton.

Not so secret forager

Yep that’s me too. I set about documenting my foraging on TikTok for fun so get away from the busy studio and enjoy some nature head space. The Videos were a way for me to enjoy creating content without any stress or obligation, I posted when and what I wanted. And it went a bit nuts…

The accounts (across four channels) grew rapidly, outpacing my glass account at one point, and I’m beginning to write a book about it! Nuts.
